Cruz Beckham may only be a mere 12 years old but, from his most recent social media post, it's already looking like he's going to end up hencher than me.

The clip, posted on Cruz's Instagram page, shows David and Victoria's youngest son at the gym for a spot of weight-training as he puffs his way through a full bench press with two weights on each side:

The short clip shows Cruz lifting his way through four repetitions with all the concentration and breath control of a seasoned pro.

What's more, he then captioned the post with a cheeky little comment: "No gains with @chasenfitness @brooklynbeckham @danieldarri55."

On first watch, Cruz's feat is quite impressive to be fair, and many of his followers have reacted to the post with messages of encouragement or in awe of his lifting ability.

"Amazing!!!!!" said one commenter, who also urged him to go slowly with his fitness: "But ... be careful not to lift too much weight at once."

"How r u that strong??? I can barely do a push-up," said another.

Some people, meanwhile, have told Cruz that he's 'too young' to be lifting weights, saying that exercising this way at his age could lead him to injure himself. I don't know about you, but that's definitely my excuse.

"You're too young to do that thing," one said in response to the video. "Just enjoy life as a kid."

"Unless you are at least fifteen, with a qualified personal trainer, this is not a thing to do, as your body is still growing," chimed in another, who made themselves sound vaguely professional. "In fact I would say it is not healthy and could cause injury." Thanks, fitness guru.

Despite the concern of many of those commenting on the clip, a few people spotted that his older brother Brooklyn, 18, can be seen at the side of the shot supporting the bar for him.

Others said that it was natural that Cruz would be in the gym, given that he is a member of a famously sporty family.

"Just remember his dad is a professional soccer player and him and his siblings all do sports. And when your an athlete you do training," that fan said.

"Besides I'm a year older than him and I also do sport although I don't do heavy weights I do similar training and it's fine."

If a thirteen-year-old says it's true, well, I guess it must be alright.

The video is just one of a series of exercise clips that Cruz has taken with Brooklyn over the past week.

The Beckham family are enjoying a trip to the US to visit Brooklyn, who is currently studying at Parsons School of Design in New York.

If Cruz carries on in this way, he might well go on to have as stellar a sporting career as his dad did. That's less hope for the rest of us then.
