It may not have been the biggest role in the Harry Potter series, but it was certainly memorable - and now we can confirm that the kid who played young Severus Snape in The Deathly Hallows is totally unrecognisable now.

Yes, the once cherubic Benedict Clarke, who played that character listed above in one or many of the Harry Potter films is now a full grown man.

Need a reminder? Here you go.

Clarke has since added a few other acting credits to his CV, including 2012's In the Wake of Sirens.

However, if his Instagram account is anything to go by, he spends less time these days wizarding and making potions, and more time hiking in mountains and drinking craft beer.

Well done, Father Time, you have struck once again.

Clarke was given the role of young Snape after casting agents visited his London school looking for the right person to play the baddie, who was portrayed by the late Alan Rickman in the series.

Of his role, he later said in a Tumblr Q&A: "I guess [the filmmakers] just liked my awkwardness. (laughs) At the first audition, I was going for either young Snape or young James. It wasn't until I was recalled to audition in front of David Yates at Leavesden that I was told I'd be auditioning for the role of young Snape.

"And being a Harry Potter nerd, my description of Snape's character was pretty good. My acting on the other hand... (laughs)."

Such mature, wise, honesty. Wizard.
