When Margot Robbie starred in The Wolf of Wall Street as Leonardo DiCaprio's wife, men around the world fell in love with the blonde Australian. Her beauty captured the attention of one man in particular, Hugh Hefner, who wanted her to appear in Playboy.

He told Us Weekly: "The girl that plays [Jordan Belfort's] wife in [Wolf of Wall Street] is very, very pretty. She should be in Playboy! Send her a message!

"We're ready for her. She would be great."

She politely declined the offer, but rumour has it, Margot could still be involved with the gentlemen's magazine in a different way. Plans have already been announced for a biopic about Hugh Hefner following his death at the age of 91, and a source has told the Mirror: "Margot turned the offer down before but this is different. She's considering it."

Her Suicide Squad co-star Jared Leto will reportedly play the legendary, sailor hat wearing publishing magnate. He's very keen for Margot to get involved with the project, with the source adding: "Jared is working on the movie with his buddy Brett and they're really pushing for Margot to have a major role. She's perfect for a part and he's not going to give up until she accepts."

Director Brett Ratner got the rights to Hefner's story of producer Jerry Weintraub when he died in 2015. But he's been interested in the project for ten years, with Robert Downey Jr's name once being thrown into the ring for the actor to play the Playboy founder.

But Ratner has told The Hollywood Reporter: "Jared is an old friend. He told me, 'I want to play him. I want to understand him.' And I really believe Jared can do it. He's one of the great actors of today."

Obviously, Jared won't be able to sit down with the man himself to try and portray him in the best possible way, but Ratner adds: "There's enough footage on Hef out there that Jared will be able to get as much information as he wants."

Hugh Hefner was married three times, first to Mildred Williams in 1949, then Playmate of the Year Kimberley Conrad in 1989, and finally with Crystal Harris in 2009. He also had a plethora of girlfriends over the years, so it will be interesting to see who Margot would play if she accepts the role.

No information has been released about when the film is expected to be released.
