Matt Damon Reveals The Real Reason For Trumps Movie Cameos

Because let’s face it, the man’s not exactly Al Pacino, is he?

Say what you want about Donald Trump, but there is no denying that the guy has done a lot of stuff.

He became president of the United States of America, amassed a net worth of over $3.5billion, turned himself orange and made a name for himself as the 'least charitable billionaire'.

He also made a cameo appearance in Home Alone 2.

That's a big gig by any budding actor's standards, but Trump's silver screen accolades don't end there - far from it. He has also made appearances in films such as Sex and the City, Zoolander, The Associate and Two Weeks Notice to name just a few.

But let's face it, the man's not exactly Al Pacino, is he? So, why the fuck is he in every other film to be spat out of Hollywood?

Naturally there's something afoot, and in a recent interview Matt Damon revealed all.

"The deal was that if you wanted to shoot in one of his buildings, you had to write him in a part," Damon told The Hollywood Reporter in a wide-ranging interview published online Friday.

[Director] Martin Brest had to write something in 'Scent of a Woman' - and the whole crew was in on it," Damon claimed. "You have to waste an hour of your day with a bullshit shot: Donald Trump walks in and Al Pacino's like, 'Hello, Mr. Trump!' - you had to call him by name - and then he exits."

"You waste a little time so that you can get the permit, and then you can cut the scene out," Damon explained. "But I guess in 'Home Alone 2' they left it in."

Damon's not the only actor making these sorts of claims against Trump; according to Chris O'Donnell's experiences whilst filming Scent of a Woman, a very similar sequence of events was occurring.

"It was explained to us that in order for us to film at the Plaza [Hotel in New York City, which Trump then owned], we had a little walk-on part for Donald and Marla [Maples, Trump's wife at the time]," O'Donnell said.

However, in this particular case the scene was cut out.

Damon had previously criticised Trump for refusing to condemn white supremacist violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

A lot of people, myself included, are really waking up to the extent of the existing racism, and it's so much worse than I naively thought," Damon said. "I just feel naive at this point."
