You remember Spy Kids, right? The American spy comedy adventure series written and directed by Robert Rodriguez? Well, not only is one of its stars all grown up (as you'd expect, given that the first film was over 15 years ago now and people, y'know, age and all that), but he's also engaged. And not only is he engaged, he's engaged to singer Meghan Trainor.

It was Meghan's 24th birthday on Friday, and her Spy Kid boyfriend, Daryl Sabara, decided to go all out and pop the question. He proposed under a 'tunnel of beautiful Christmas lights' and she then said yes - or 'YESSSS!!!!', according to what she had to say on Twitter.

Meghan wrote: "I SAID YESSSS!!!! For my 24th birthday, the love of my life @darylsabara made all of my dreams come true. He proposed to me under a tunnel of beautiful Christmas lights and surprised me with my family and friends."

Daryl also seemed pretty chuffed, saying: "Happy birthday to my soulmate. Thank you for changing my life forever and thank you for saying yes! You are the most beautiful fiance in the world. I love you @meghan_trainor."

The couple has been dating for a year and a half now, according to TMZ.

Before starring in the pre-teen spy series, Daryl had appeared in episodes of Will and Grace and Friends, among others. He's still been dipping in and out of the role of Juni Cortez - the most recent Spy Kids film was a 4D movie released in 2011 - and has also had a recurring part in black comedy TV show Weeds.

It was recently revealed that the franchise would be coming back to life, this time in the form of a Netflix series. The upcoming show will be an animated series called Spy Kids: Mission Critical, according to Variety, and will be based on the film franchise, following brother and sister spy team Juni and Carmen Cortez as they attend Spy Kids Academy.
