You know that lull between Christmas Day and New Year when everyone mopes about not knowing what to do with themselves? When you're all full up from days of festive binging, but there's nothing to do other than work your way through the Bountys and Twixes in the box of Celebrations that no one wants?

Well, now there's at least one thing to get in your diary for that week (don't worry, it's nothing too strenuous), as Oasis documentary Supersonic is getting its UK TV network premiere on Wednesday 27 December.

Directed by Mat Whitecross, the feature-length doc is an essential watch for Oasis fans - or Britpop fans, music fans, British people... or anyone really, as it's a good'un, with a rating of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It tells the story of the Britpop band from their inception right through to the legendary Knebworth gigs in 1996, and features never-before-seen interviews with Noel and Liam - and their mum.

Their meteoric rise to success is fascinating, becoming one of the most famous bands in the 90s and releasing songs that remain absolute bangers to this day. And in the doc, the brothers share snippets of just how they got so far, packing it with raucous tales of their fast-paced lives in the rock and roll world - and the fraternal spats that threatened the future of Oasis.

Liam, for instance, shares an anecdote about how he got into music, which apparently revolves around being hit in the head by a hammer? There's also a story about how they accidentally took crystal meth before going on stage.

It's a pretty topical screening, with the news that the Gallagher bros are possibly on decent terms ahead of Christmas.

Noel reached out on Twitter to his brother with a nice little message, saying: "I wanna say Happy Xmas to team NG it's been a great year thanks for everything looking forward to seeing you tmorrow AS YOU WERE LG x".

When others replied, confused, he simply said they were 'all good again' - yeah, that's after decades of notoriously bickering.

Their relationship was fractious throughout Oasis' existence, with numerous stories of punch ups and fall outs, and the brothers haven't got on well since the band finally split in 2009.

You can catch Supersonic at 10pm on BBC on Wednesday 27 December, so get some tinnies at the ready and reserve the good seat in the living room.
