It's no secret that Mark Wahlberg likes to keep himself fit, but now the actor has revealed he intends to take his workout and dieting regimen to uncharted heights, in an interview for the cover feature of Jan/Feb's issue of Men's Health.

At 46 years of age, the Transformers: The Last Knight star is still as crazy as ever about his fitness, but with new movie Mile 22 in the pipeline, Wahlberg is planning to strip his body fat down to a miniscule six percent.

The new movie will be an epic CIA thriller starring Ronda Rousey, Lauren Cohan and Iko Uwais. Direction will be courtesy of Peter Berg, who recently worked with the actor on titles including Patriots Day, Deepwater Horizon and Lone Survivor, and Wahlberg told the popular mag about what he has in mind in terms of training.

"I've been fat in all of Peter's movies," Wahlberg says. "For this one I'm going to be down to six percent body fat."

He added: "I'm doing [the Versaclimber, a machine similar to a stairclimber] twice a day and jumping rope.

"If I wake up at 3:30, I can go to the golf course at 6:30, be done by 8:30, and then be home and then do the rest of my stuff: work with a physiotherapist, get treatment, hit the cryo chamber.

"I don't play basketball anymore because I don't want to roll an ankle and miss a movie or screw up my golf game."

It's a big ask, but it's nothing the A-lister isn't mentally prepped for, given his unfaltering determination and rock-solid work ethic.

"The only way to be the best is to keep working like you got nothing," he explains. "Keep getting after it, and be more and more aggressive, more and more focused every day. I don't know. I have more drive and desire now than I ever have."

The actor has previously slimmed down on a liquid diet, for his role in The Gambler in 2014.

"I appreciate when I have an opportunity like this, so there isn't anything that I wouldn't do to prepare, whether it be mentally or physically," Wahlberg told PEOPLE at the world premiere of the movie at AFI Fest 2014 in L.A.

"I mean, that's what the job requires. That's what you're supposed to do and I welcome those things with open arms. And I usually get a little obsessive."

There's no word on the release date just yet, but we imagine Wahlberg's going to have to keep this up for quite some time... Rather you than us, mate.
