Terry Crews has filed a police report, according to reports, a month after claiming he was groped by a studio executive at a party.

TMZ has said that the 49-year-old actor walked into an LAPD station and filed a sexual assault report.

The news comes almost a month after Crews made allegations on Twitter of an incident that occurred last year.

As that's within the statute of limitations in California, it's possible Crews coming forward could trigger a criminal investigation.

Crews claimed that the 'Hollywood honcho' touched him inappropriately in 2016, according to TMZ's report.

In a Twitter thread, he wrote: "This whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD. Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME. My wife [and] I were at a Hollywood function last year [and] a high level Hollywood executive came over 2 me and groped my privates.

"Jumping back I said What are you doing?! My wife saw everything [and] we looked at him like he was crazy. He just grinned like a jerk.

"I was going to kick his ass right then - but I thought twice about how the whole thing would appear. '240 lbs. Black man stomps out Hollywood Honcho' would be the headline the next day.

"Only I probably wouldn't have been able to read it because I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN JAIL. So we left." (sic)

Crews added that he told everyone he knew and worked with about what happened to him. And that the executive called him the next day to apologise, but never explained his reason for the assault.

He said he never took it further, as we would be "ostracized, [which is] par for the course when the predator has power and influence. Who's going to believe you?"

"Hollywood is not the only business where this happens, and to the casualties of this behavior- you are not alone," Crews added.

"Hopefully, me coming forward with my story will deter a predator and encourage someone who feels hopeless."

It comes after a number of high-profile women in Hollywood went public with claims of inappropriate behavior by film producer Weinstein, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Mira Sorvino, Asia Argento, and Rosanna Arquette.

Thousands of women - and men - have used the #MeToo hashtag to emphasise how common, and how normalised sexual assault has become.
