Her dad admitted that it was weird to see his daughter 'half-clad' in a magazine, but that ultimately, he was proud.

The year of 2018 marks the second time that pro tennis player Genie Bouchard will be featured as part of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. And it is also the second year running that her dad was totally cool with it.

Concerned about what her old man might think when seeing his offspring partially clothed in the magazine, Bouchard sent him a text to hear his opinion and his response was a masterclass in what it means to be a good father.

Bouchard shared a screen shot of the conversation to Twitter.

Her dad wrote: "You know its [sic] a bit strange for a dad to see his daughter half clad in a magazine. But its [sic] done so tastefully. I'm proud of you. Well done!"

She seemed relieved, as her caption on the tweet read: "Sooo Dad approves ... thank god."

Speaking to Sports Illustrated about her second shoot with the publication, Genie said: "It was definitely easier! I was much less nervous this time around. I felt I had experience from my first SI shoot which helped me for this second one.

"At the beginning of the shoot, it's always hard - wearing almost nothing definitely makes you feel self-conscious. But the photographer was amazing; he was so nice and supportive - he made me feel comfortable right away. I realised I was there for a reason, and this gave me the confidence to be free and also have fun during the shoot!"

Genie's latest shoot comes shortly after she attended the Super Bowl with the brazen college student who famously won a date with her on Twitter because of a bet.

Last year, the tennis pro went on a romantic outing with University of Missouri student John Goehrke, after losing a bet over who would win the Super Bowl match-up between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots.

"It is the craziest thing ever!" she said. "It started with pure luck and exploded into this unbelievable story. I'm amazed at how much people love this story, and I'm so happy I followed through on the bet!

"John is a cool guy, and the NFL invited us to the Super Bowl this year, which is insane. We get to go back to where it all started... I'm sure John never expected all of this to happen with one simple tweet. Just shows that anything can happen if you shoot your shot and go for it in life."
