"Here come the sons..."

The sons of John Lennon and Paul McCartney have thrown Instagram into a frenzy, after sharing a rare selfie together - each bearing a strong resemblance to their famous fathers.

Captioned simply 'Peekaboo...', the selfie was posted by Sean Ono Lennon, who tagged Macca's son James in the photo.

Many people were stunned by the likeness that Sean and James had to their dads. I mean, that's all thanks to a little-known phenomenon called DNA, but sure.

One fan commented: "James looks like Paul, with his mother, Linda's hair color! Sean looks like John with a little of Yoko! Julian Lennon looks like John!"

Another wrote: "You two definitely look like your famous fathers. I am still saddened by the loss of your father Sean. The world lost a wonderful person."

A third said: "Am so happy/grateful you two are friends/have each other.hope it makes the long singing road less lonely to be with someone else who understands."

Someone else said: "This is probably the coolest photo ever. Incredible. Thank you."

Another person won the comments section, giving a clever twist on a classic Beatles song, writing: "Here Come the Sons..."

Round of applause for that one, mate.

Many others speculated that the photo could be a sign of good things to come, asking if this meant they'd be making music together - James is holding what looks like a guitar, after all.

Mind you, scrolling through Sean's Instagram feed, I reckon it's more a case of him just being a fan of a good selfie with a mate. Even the day before he'd snapped himself hanging out with Lenny Kravitz.

Sean, 42, is the son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, while James, 40, is the fourth child of Paul McCartney and his late wife Linda.

But along with them, there's also Dhani Harrison, the only child of the late George Harrison. Like many of the other Beatles offspring, Dhani's already forged a bit of a musical career for himself, having released his debut solo album Parallel in 2017.

After the death of George in 2001, Dhani also completed his father's final album, Brainwashed, in collaboration with Jeff Lynne. Released the next year, it later went on to win a Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 'Marwa Blues'.

Then there's the Starr sons, Jason and Zak Starkey - who's already a well-known drummer.

Quite the supergroup, there. How about it, LADs?
