We imagine Kim Kardashian's not particularly used to having the limelight stolen from her, but believe it or not, that's exactly what happened - having been dethroned from the centre of attention by a certain Ms. Rihanna.

A viral clip from the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards has been unearthed, and it shows Kim's beau Kanye gazing over at Rihanna as she performs on stage.

Kim's busy filming a selfie video of the stage, but then she clocks Kanye staring over and abruptly cuts the filming.

Of course, Kanye has every right to innocently watch a performance, and it could well be that there was zero beef from anyone afterwards - but that hasn't stopped the Internet finding the funny side of things by speculating about Kim's reaction.

One Twitter user wrote: "See how fast Kim stopped snapchatting when she caught Kanye eying up Rihanna."

Another said: "I want someone to look at me the way Kanye looks at Rihanna."

Someone else wrote: "Kanye thinking like 'Damn Kim Kardashian is my wife but the way RIRI ass looking I might risk it all'."

Another person commented: "He even moved so he could get a better view when the phone got in his line of sight. Like same, Kanye. Lmao."

Recently TIME magazine threw shade towards Kim when it left her out of its annual '25 Most Influential People on the Internet' list... which featured both Kanye and her little sister Kylie Jenner. Oh, and Rihanna was on it, too, just as an extra little sting.

The list also included (deep breath) Donald Trump, BTS, Logan and Jake Paul, immigration activists Charlotte and Dave Willner, Japanese personality Naomi Watanabe, comedy duo Desus and Mero, Sia Cooper from @DiaryOfAFitMommyOfficial, Roland Szabo (the Yanny and Laurel mastermind), blogger Eman al Nafjan, HQ's Scott Rogowsky, the women behind the #BabaeAko campaign, Ryan of YouTube blog Ryan ToysReview, Tony Liu and Lindsey Schuyler of @DietPrada, journalists Shaun King and Matt Drudge, Kayla Itsines, conspiracy personality 'Q', Busy Phillips, Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins, Lil Miquela, the students of Parkland School and Ariel Martin (aka Baby Ariel).

Yeah, we've never heard of half of them, either. Soz Kim.
