Lily Allen has revealed that she once slept with female escorts, saying that she felt 'lost and lonely'.
Explaining that while she was not proud, she did not feel ashamed, Allen wrote on Instagram: "Sooo, in my book 'My Thoughts Exactly' (out on 20th Sept) I detail some stuff from my dark days, around the Sheezus era.
"I slept with female escorts when I was on tour, cause I was lost and lonely and looking for something. I'm not proud, but I'm not ashamed. I don't do it anymore."

Allen has recently admitted that she lost her 'sense of self' while touring with 2014 album, Sheezus, and had cheated on her ex-husband.
In an interview with Vulture, she said: "I lost my sense of self. I lost my identity. I was being a bad mum. I was being bad at my job.
"I'd wake up on a tour bus in the middle of Wisconsin and be so hungover.

"I cheated on my husband. All I wanted to do was be with my kids. I wasn't even making any money."
She continued to say that because of that, she lost her marriage, her house and her 'mind'.
"I literally had to hit rock bottom and build myself back up," Allen said.
But scrolling through the comments in Allen's latest Instagram post, you can see that most fans have nothing but love for Allen's confession - with many writing supportive messages to say that it's 'no one's business' who you choose to sleep with and thanking her for bravely sharing her story.
One person wrote: "No one can know the loneliness that you can feel when you have everything and nothing, I believe that I felt the same, we use what we can to full fill that hole in our life, nothing to be ashamed [of]."

Another said: "Literally who gives a fuck what grown ass consenting adults do in private, get a life haters."
Someone else wrote: "Seriously who cares. It's no one's businesses who you sleep with. Sex workers are beautiful and amazing. This is not newsworthy. Talking about it like it is stigmatizes sex work."
A fourth added: "Nothing to be ashamed of anyway. You should be proud you are a woman meeting your own needs with your own money and treating sex workers respectfully. Anyone wincing at the thought of an independent person consensually enjoying their sexuality needs to reevaluate their perception. Love you Lily!!"
Others said we've all done stuff we're not exactly proud of, with one joking: "I puked in my purse once to avoid leaving the dance floor while LDN was playing. There. We're even."
