Michael J. Fox Reunited With ‘Back To The Future’ Star Christopher Lloyd On Red Carpet

Michael J. Fox Reunited With ‘Back To The Future’ Star Christopher Lloyd On Red Carpet

Fans of the Back to the Future trilogy got a nice surprise on Saturday night, when stars Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd reunited on the red carpet at a benefit show for Parkinson's disease.

Fox, 57, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease - a degenerative disorder that sees the brain progressively damaged over time - over 20 years ago. Initially, he kept the diagnosis secret from the public, but eventually announced the news in 1998, soon creating The Michael J. Fox Foundation to help advance research into the disease.

"People with Parkinson's have told me when they heard I was diagnosed, they were happy," Fox told People, explaining that it was because of the attention people knew he would bring.

"I said, 'I get it'."

Saturday night wasn't the first time Fox was seen hanging out with his former co-star recently, either. Back in August the two reunited with fellow castmates Thomas Wilson (who played Biff) and Lea Thompson, who played Marty's mum Lorraine.

Lloyd had posted a photo on social media, captioning it 'This was special'.

The foursome were making an appearance at Fan Expo Boston, where they addressed rumours of yet another Back to the Future sequel.

According to Metro, Wilson said: "Basically, I think America is saying, 'Come on they've wrecked every other franchise with bad sequels, why not this one?' C'mon, we would watch it until it sucks."

But Fox apparently implied that it wasn't quite as simple as America wanting something - saying that the decision laid with 'gatekeeper' and co-creator Bob Gale.

Thompson added: "This movie was so powerful to show to your children because it's the idea that if you do the right thing, if you have the courage, if you stand up for yourself at the right moment of your life, you can change not only your future but your children's future."

Along with Lloyd, other guests at the foundation's star-studded annual benefit show included Joan Jett, who Fox performed on stage with.

Fox was also joined by wife Tracy Pollan, 58, who he's been married to for 30 years.

The two have four kids together - Sam, 29, twin daughters Schuyler and Aquinnah, 23, and daughter Esmé, 16.

Fox told People that their secret to happily married life with such a big family was to 'find the best things about you and the best things about life and celebrate them'.

Pollan added: "Just give each other the benefit of the doubt. He assumes I'm doing the best I can."

30 years is certainly impressive - congrats, guys!
