Pink's career has lasted more than two decades and she's inspired millions of people around the world with her message of inclusiveness and 'fuck conformity'. The 38-year-old hasn't wavered from her tomboy look or attitude since she's been in the industry - showing there can be different types of feminity and beauty.

So it should be no surprise that she and her husband Carey Hart are raising their daughter, Willow, gender neutral in order to prevent the youngster from feeling like she has to be defined by womanhood.

The 'Beautiful Trauma' singer has told People: "We are a very label-less household. Last week Willow told me she is going to marry an African woman. I was like: 'Great, can you teach me how to make African food?'

"And she's like: 'Sure mama, and we are going to live with you while our house is getting ready'."

Pink, real name Alecia Beth Moore, added that she recently saw the gender-neutral movement being promoted at a school. She said: "The bathroom outside the kindergarten said: 'Gender Neutral - anybody', and it was a drawing of many different shapes.

"I took a picture of it and I wrote: 'Progress'. I thought that was awesome. I love that kids are having this conversation."

This isn't the first time Pink has tried to smash stereotypes and ideals of conformity for her family. The singer made headlines around the world when she accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year's MTV VMAs.

Pink told the crowd how she was shocked when Willow told her she thought she was the ugliest girl in school and a looked like a boy with long hair.

The mum of two said: "I went home and I made a Powerpoint presentation for her. And in that presentation were androgynous rockstars and artists that live their truth, are probably made fun of every day of their life, and carry on, wave their flag and inspire the rest of us.

"And these are artists like Michael Jackson and David Bowie and Freddie Mercury and Annie Lennox and Prince and Janis Joplin and George Michael, Elton John, so many artists.

Pink has garnered a following all around the world for messages like this and it's one of the reasons why she is one of the best artists of this century.
