Fans of Robert De Niro will already be pretty happy with 2017. It's been announced that he'll be playing the lead role in Martin Scorsese's new Netflix series, The Irishman.
De Niro will play Frank 'The Irishman' Sheeran, a famous mobster, with Joe Pesci and Al Pacino also lined-up to star. The film is expected to set Netflix back around £100m.
Now, if that wasn't enough, for the first time ever, De Niro has tried Snapchat. The results are, quite simply, outstanding.

The Hollywood hero got a crash course on how to use the app, trying a variety of filters, as part of the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival.
Alex Berry, a finalist in the Tribeca Snapchat Shorts category, educated the festival's co-founder in the art of snapchatting.
The award for Snapchat Shorts is only in its second year, and has been expanded this year to encompass the ever-popular storytelling feature.
The festival begins in 2002, with De Niro as one of three founders, and it was aimed to support the Tribeca neighbourhood in Manhattan, US, which suffered as a result of the 9/11 attacks.
De Niro, a two-time Oscar winner, and single Golden Globe victor, tried such filters as the puppy filter, the flower crown (with the caption of 'flawless') and the voice changer.
De Niro, famed for his hard-nosed expression and ability not to smile, flashes his teeth as he experiments with the various filters.

Despite enjoying himself, there is no news on whether De Niro himself has downloaded the app and started to share his own Snapchat stories - just imagine the quality of these if he did.

And that's just for starters. This week LADbible brought the exciting news that Scorsese and De Niro could be back in partnership, alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, for the first time for the movie adaptation of David Grann's Killers Of The Flower Moon: The Osage Murders And The Birth Of The FBI. Those Snapchat stories would make themselves.
