Robert Downey Jr. Celebrates His Birthday By Giving Everyone A Gift

Most of us spend our birthdays awaiting gifts and not giving two shits about anybody else, but not Robert Downey Jr.

The Iron Man actor has gone and flipped the whole birthday gift-giving paradigm on its head by instead imparting a gift from him to the rest of us.

Don't go getting too excited though - it's a crossword, and quite a tricky one at that.

If you wanna spend the next 10 minutes/hours/days trying to crack it, then don't look down, because I'm going to go ahead and hit you with the answers, which came to me pretty much straight away:

One down - Me, but also Charlie = CHAPLIN

Two down - Me, but also Benedict = SHERLOCK

Three down - Also who I wouldn't be without = MYFANS

Four down - 22 day = ENDGAME

Five across - Me, today, but also Jon = HAPPY

Six across - What I'm eating all of today = CAKE

Seven across - Me, but for the last 10 years = IRONMAN

Eight across - Who I wouldn't be here without = SUSAN

I'll admit I struggled a bit on that last one, but then I remembered about his wife Susan. Also, five across was a little troublesome, but then I realised that the Jon clue was a reference to Jon Favreau, who of course plays Happy Hogan in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

OK, I didn't figure any of that out, this person did.

Bravo to them. That right there is some serious Robby DJ knowledge... though their profile pic is an image of Downey Jr., so I'm guessing he is the subject they would wish to be quizzed on if they appeared on Mastermind.

The actor turned 54 today and he has received kind birthday wishes from some of his Avengers co-stars.

Happy cake day, Robert.
