Ronda Rousey Snuck Into Blizzcon Dressed As A World Of Warcraft Death Knight

The former UFC champion enjoyed her time at Blizzcon by spending $1300 on cards and trying the new WoW expansion

It may have been almost a year since Ronda Rousey's last fight - c'mon, WWE is about so much more than mere fighting - but rest assured that she's been slaying her enemies in another form.

Rousey has admitted before that in between bouts of modelling, acting, and tearing off people's limbs with her signature armbar, she and her fellow UFC-fighter husband Travis Browne enjoy passing the time by dabbling in a bit of orc murder - yep, they're huge fans of World of Warcraft.

It's clear that Rousey isn't just a casual WoW player though. She and Browne ghosted their way into Blizzard's annual expo, Blizzcon, in Anaheim, California this past weekend - dressed in full Death Knight armour. A suitably threatening enough choice for them, then. You can take a look at their get-ups below:

I guess if you're an uber-famous fighter, showing off your true nerdy self must be difficult, so it's understandable why Rousey would want to stealth her way into Blizzcon undercover.

By all accounts, the plan worked, and Rousey got to visit the convention totally undisturbed by her fellow cosplayers. That might also have been because of her intimidating face-mask and the gnarly weaponry she was holding, but who knows.

The former UFC champion reportedly made the most off sneaking into Blizzcon by spending $1300 (£992) on Warcraft cards as she tried to get hold of a rare type of 'mount' - an animal you can ride on for transportation, it says here. Are there no buses in WoW?

Word is that she was ultimately unsuccessful in getting hold of it - I wouldn't have wanted to be the person to tell that to a Death Knight, mind.

Rousey also shared that she got to try out the upcoming WoW expansion, Battle for Azeroth, which was announced at this year's Blizzcon.

Soon to be the seventh expansion of WoW, Battle for Azeroth is inspired by the original Warcraft real-time strategy games, with new features including allied races which you can recruit to your team and a 20-player co-op mode called Warfronts.

There will also be two new kingdoms for players to explore and a hell of a lot of boats, if you're into that.

Whether you're a WoW player or not, it looks like Rousey enjoyed her time dressing up as one of the former minions of the Lich King.

Maybe Rousey should get into the habit of fighting dressed as some of her other nerdy interests, like Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z or Machoke from Pokémon. I'd certainly pay to watch that.
