Ryan Reynolds Wishes Brother Happy Birthday In True Ryan Reynolds Style

Ah, Ryan, how you turn such a mundane task like wishing your brother a happy birthday into something so brilliant is beyond us - but the LAD has done it again.

If we had a quid for every time we saw a weepy post from someone wishing a heartfelt happy birthday to their mum, grandad, niece, dog or anyone else we couldn't give a shit about - well, then we'd be pretty rich.

Most of them go something like this: "Happy birthday to my mum. My absolute rock. Here's a photo of me and her, which is completely irrelevant to it being her birthday today, but I look quite good in it so I'm going to take the opportunity for some lame self promotion, while passing it off as a loving gesture!"

Not for Ryan Reynolds, whose self promotion comes entirely shamelessly. He shared a photo of him and his brother, Jeff, as kids on Twitter, sending his bro best wishes for his big day, saying: "Jeff, if there was a fire and I had to choose a family member to save, obviously it'd be me. But if I had time to save one more, you can be damn sure I'd call the fire department. They're experts in the field and have vast experience in these matters. I love you. Happy Birthday."

And because this man's nothing but thorough, he also took to Facebook in 2016 with another old school snap, with the caption: "Happy Birthday to my big brother, Jeff. Seems like just yesterday you were changing my diapers, even though it was well over a week ago."

He's well-loved already for his social media content, with him and his wife, Blake Lively, often taking the piss out of each other publicly - and brilliantly.

His very own birthday was even subject to jokes. He started the day by tweeting: "My kids tried to surprise me for my birthday this morning. I totally heard them coming and snuck out to start a new life somewhere else."

But it didn't take long for Blake to hit back with an even better comeback.

That was, of course, a reference to a similar post Ryan had sent out on her birthday, where he'd taken a photo of the two of them, cropped out her face to leave only his, and captioned it "Happy Birthday to my amazing wife."

And so the saga continues. We just hope Jeff gets in on the action and replies.
