Tom Hiddleston appeared on The Graham Norton Show last night and shared a pretty painful story from his school days.
Tom, who is properly posh and boarded at Eton, ended up starring in a school production alongside none other than Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne, who also attended the prestigious school.
Recalling his school days, Tom said of Eddie: "He was a great talent, even then. He was a huge star, and we were in a school production of 'A Passage to India' by E.M. Forster.

"It was an all-boys school, and the great Eddie Redmayne, now Oscar-winning Eddie Redmayne, was playing the female lead. And in 'A Passage to India', there's an expedition to this cultural landmark called the Marabar Caves by elephant.
"And I'm delighted to reveal that I played the front right leg of the elephant that Eddie Redmayne was riding on."
As if that wouldn't be emotionally crippling enough, wait until you hear how they forced the school boys to carry Eddie: "We were holding a table with a cushion on top of it, and also a table cloth to cover our faces because our bodies are the elephant." That's got to take you down a peg or two, hasn't it? Literally having to carry another, better, actor on your back.
He also shared his nickname from his school days, wait for it: 'Piddle', and it even came with a rhyme that the other kids would sing to him: 'Hiddle Piddle did a widdle in the middle of the night'. Fucking hell, mate.

He added that his friends still call him 'Pid'; I'd try and get that knocked on the head, if I were you, Tom.
We needn't feel too sorry for him, though, as he's not doing too badly. He recently won a Golden Globe and TV Choice award for his role in The Night Manager; he's also out and about promoting his latest film, Kong: Skull Island, in which he plays Captain James Conrad.
