Did you know that Cardi B and Ariana Grande are the same age? Alright, alright, maybe you'd not actually given it any thought. And yes, technically Cardi B turns 26 before Ariana does, owing to having been born a whole eight months earlier, but still.
Turns out many people are of the opinion that Cardi - real name Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar - is older. Which isn't surprising - she's been open about having had a prior career as a stripper, she's married, she has a child and then there was that recent beef with Nicki Minaj, who's 35. She's got a lot of life experience behind her.
Ariana Grande, on the other hand, shot to fame when she played the role of Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon series Victorious and then the spin-off Sam & Cat.

She rarely says anything out of line, whereas Cardi's Instagram stories are something you choose not to relate in front of your gran - or any other human being with a low scandal threshold, for that matter.

Anyway, it seems the Internet is pretty flabbergasted because when one social media user flagged up the news, the Twittersphere went wild.

The tweet from Lauren Milici read: "The fact that Ariana Grande and Cardi B are the same age is a lot to process." She then revealed that she's also 25 years old, which was the reason behind her surprise.
The comment has received over 300,000 likes and 58,000 retweets.
And because social media is well, a free-for-all these days, people responded and it was a mixture of agreement, horror and just pointing out the blatantly obvious.

One said: "I get what you are saying here... I don't think you're comparing them as artists. Just as two women that are the same age and act very differently."
A Cardi B fan added: "You said it's a lot to process. Sooo you find it hard to process there are other people in the world that are the same age as you?" They're taking this all very seriously.
Someone else said: "I deadass thought cardi was in her 30s."

And this expert Google user added: "Cardi turns 26 next month" - thank you for your input.
Many people were a little worried that the pair were younger than them, with one posting: "The facts that I'm 2 years older and broke depresses me."

So, what have we learned from all this? People can make jokes and others can take them way too seriously. Oh, and two people can be the same age and look different. Who knew?
