Aussies say Margot Robbie hasn’t lost her roots after photo of her beating Barbie co-stars in a plank goes viral

Aussies say Margot Robbie hasn’t lost her roots after photo of her beating Barbie co-stars in a plank goes viral

It seems you can take the Barbie out of Australia, but you can't take the Australia out of the Barbie.

The Barbie set trainer has shared that Margot Robbie beat all of her co-stars in a planking competition.

Even all the Kens and their... imaginary horses.

London-based personal trainer David Higgins shared a photo he took with Robbie standing in front of the challenge's results.

While Higgins held the top spot with a plank that lasted five minutes and 32 seconds, Robbie wasn't far behind with four minutes and 10 seconds.

She smashed co-stars Ryan Gosling (three minutes and two seconds), Hari Nef (two minutes and 15 seconds), and her husband Tom Ackerley, who clocked in at one minute and 36 seconds.

In the photo, Robbie is sticking out her tongue and holding her two middle fingers up, you know, the Aussie sign for 'haha I beat ya'.

Now Aussies have shared their own Aussies takes on the photo on social media.

“She is soooo Australian coded. Make this the flag,” one person wrote.

Another added: “The most Gold Coast thing ever."

A third said: “Also Australian coded is celebrating like this while coming second."

Higgins told PopSugar training the Barbie cast was very different to the Marvel movies that he's been hired for in the past.

"Everyone was just up for a laugh and to feel good, it wasn't aesthetics," Higgins revealed.

"It wasn't like the superhero movies that I usually work on. Barbie was more about: let's just feel good, and if you feel good, that's going to translate on camera."

He said the Barbies usually did four days of Pilates and two days of strength and conditioning work per week, while the Kens did four days of strength work and two days of Pilates.

Higgins said the cast came with different levels of fitness and different levels of experience working out.

"You have people who do come in who are generally fitness savvy and who I've worked with before, like Margot, and you have people who have obviously done it before, like Ryan, who knows what works for him and he brings his own sort of experience into the world," he said.

"And then you have other people who know that they should do stuff, but are a bit scared about it and don't necessarily know what to do."
