We love a fan theory. What's not to love? Someone's so passionate about a subject that they've thought about it loads and come up with their own alternative narrative that fits in perfectly. I am in awe.
Also it gives us loads of stuff to write about and share with you all so... win win.

You're going to have to bear with me on this one though, because although it starts off ridiculously - I was almost convinced by the end.

Ron and Albus Dumbledore are the same person.
Now wait, before you kick off in the comments... hear me out. Some fans reckon that Ron travelled back in time (maybe using a Time Turner?) when he was old, and ensured that he lived his life as Dumbledore so he could guide everyone through their journey.

So first of all, in the books Ron and Dumbledore are described very similarly in their youth. They are both referred to as having 'long thin noses' and red hair.
Not convinced yet? I wasn't either. Let's keep going.
So Dumbledore has a scar on his left leg that resembles the London Underground. Remember when Ron got pulled under the Whomping Willow in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and his leg was broken?
Or the fact that Ron and Dumbledore have little to no contact throughout their time together. Which is pretty odd considering they are both main characters. In the books, during the part where Ron, Hermione and Harry each receive items from Dumbledore in his will, Ron has to lie about the closeness of he and Dumbledore's relationship in order to retrieve the Deluminator.

The book says: "This was stretching the truth to a breaking point; as far as Harry knew, Ron and Dumbledore had never been alone together, and direct contact between them had been negligible."
Yup, still not very convincing. Well how about THIS...
Dumbledore knows what's going on all the time and seems to be able to preempt every eventuality. He's not omniscient, so what's going on? If he'd already lived through the journey, then he'd know what was going on, right?
The theory has been dubbed the 'Ronbledore Theory'. But, if you're massive fan, you'll probably have already picked several holes in this already.

Wouldn't Ron have wanted to save his brother, Fred, from dying in the Hogwarts battle? And if he DID use a Time Turner, how would he have reversed his age? Not to mention the fact that the timeline would be all weird and he wouldn't be able to preempt what was going to happen once one thing had been changed.
Sadly, J.K. herself has already rubbished the theory...
Still fun though, right?
