Fans of The Chase saw a different side to Anne Hegerty when she appeared on this year's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! She was hailed as inspiration but since leaving the show has quipped that money was her main reason for taking part. Can't say I blame her, really.

The usual terrifying quizzer won over viewers after battling through on trials and opening up about living with Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism that can affect how people perceive the world and interact with others.

Anne was called an inspiration by many people who live with autism, with one little boy, Joseph Hughes, even penning a heart-warming letter, which went viral on social media.

Appearing on the I'm A Celeb Coming Out show, Anne's brother told her about all the positive comments and messages she'd received during her stint Down Under, to which she replied: "It's nice to know that one is sort of inspiring children. That's really sweet.

"It's completely untrue I did it to raise awareness of autism, I did it for the money."

Speaking about leaving the jungle, Anne said: "It has been such a rollercoaster.

"What kept me going was the fantastic lovely people. They were so kind and supportive."

Ah, this year's show was one big love-in, wasn't it?

Anne was so overwhelmed when entering the jungle, she threatened to quit just hours in.

Shortly after arriving, Anne, 60, admitted: "I'm really close to saying I can't do this."

But she was quickly comforted by her fellow camp mates, including this year's runner-up Emily Atack, who explained later on: "Anne got a bit upset so we gave her a cuddle. It's overwhelming. I think she was just expressing how we were all feeling, we just didn't want to admit it."

Fleur East, added: "I feel like we all have to be there for her and the minute that we all rallied around her, she just felt so much better."

And the kind gestures worked, as Anne told the Bush Telegraph: "They're absolutely brilliant, they're a fantastic bunch - I like them, they're my team."

Anne's grit saw her sticking around until she was voted in the final week of the show.
