April 2019 Could Be The Biggest Month For TV And Film Ever

Fans can't wait for two of the biggest sagas to reach their conclusions, next year.

Next year promises to be incredible with a plethora of films set to hit our screens, from Aladdin and The Lion King to Toy Story 4 and the next Star Wars movie. It's going to be big.

But it's not just the silvers screen that's set for a stellar year, there are plenty of top TV shows coming our way too, including a return for Line of Duty and Peaky Blinders.

And if 2019 promises to be a great year then April is surely the stand out month for both film and television, with the final series of Game of Thrones airing and the fourth - and potentially final - film in the Avengers series, Avengers: Endgame, being released at the end of the month.

Fans of both these mega franchises had been waiting patiently - for many months - for producers to finally release their trailers, with the hopes of followers of the Marvel Universe being raised and then dashed over and over, with multiple delays.

Then, almost like London buses, last week fans finally got what they wanted when the trailers for both the the final season of Game of Thrones and Avengers: Endgame, dropped.

Fans of the Avengers series are counting down the days until the new film is released.
Marvel

CEO of the Walt Disney Company, Robert Iger, said on Twitter that since the trailer was released it had been viewed hundreds of millions of times, smashing records for the saga's previous film.

He wrote: "There is a new record in movie trailer launches: #AvengersEndgame. had 289 million views in 24 hours, surpassing the Avengers: Infinity War total of 236 million views and The Lion King's 224.6 million over the same time measurement. Thank you #Marvel fans around the world!"

And though it didn't quite answer every question they had from the previous film, it certainly whet their appetite with fans now counting down the days until the film's release on April 26.

One person wrote: "It kills us in anticipation that #AvengersEndgame is premiering not until April 26, 2019. So I have a suggestion, watch one MCU Movie per week starting today until the 22nd film."

GOT fans will have waited almost two years by the time the final series airs.
HBO

While another added: "Easily my most anticipated film of 2019. Want April to come now."

And fans of GOT haven't got too much longer to wait until they get to see the show's final series, which will hopefully answer of our questions answered, such as 'will Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen realise they are blood relatives?'.

And just the small matter of who is going to actually win the 'Game of Thrones' outright and capture the Iron Throne and with it the Seven Kingdoms.

By the time the series finally airs it will be going on for two years since the last season ended, which means fans have certainly done their time.

One fan said they were already preparing for the finale. They wrote: "Restarting Game of Thrones getting ready for April!! I'm ready. Let's go."

But singer Example summed up everyone's feelings about both the Marvel Universe and GOT when he wrote: "Avengers Endgame AND final Game Of Thrones in April. Will need to take the whole of May off for reflection/repeat viewing."

Roll on, April...just 17 weeks to go.
