Austin Powers Director Jay Roach Hints At Fourth Movie After Discussions With Mike Myers

Oh, behave!

Jimi Hendrix deceased, drugs. Janis Joplin deceased, alcohol. Mama Cass deceased, ham sandwich. A fourth Austin Powers movie in the works? Possibly.

No but seriously, Austin Powers director Jay Roach has said he is in serious discussion about creating a fourth movie with Mike Myers. Yeah baby, yeah!

Talking to Larry King, Roach said whenever he and comedian Mike Myers get together, Austin Powers is always discussed, it's just a case of finding the right idea for the movie. He said:

"You know, [Mike Myers and I] talk about it every time we get together. I would say it's in a latent phase right now, but someday if we find the right idea that seems to have it earn itself, for sure. Mike gave me the break of a lifetime in letting me direct [Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery] so I'm always good to go."

Does that make you HORNY? Does it? Does a fourth Austin Powers movie make you horny baby, yeah!?

OK, I'm not going to pretend like I'm not a massive Austin Powers fan girl, literally like one of those women chasing him down the street in the opening credits of the first movie. It is comedy gold from the first minute of the first movie to the final minute of the last one. Which explains why I am so excited about this quote.

However, I do have to make myself crash back down to reality and remember than in 2011 there were reports that a fourth movie was pretty much all signed off. Here we are five years later and the director and lead actor talking about discussing the fourth movie seems like a development of sorts.

If Mike Myers can come up with a line even half as funny as, "My name is Richie Cunningham and this is my wife Oprah," then we're onto a winner.

In fact I'm probably going to go home and watch all three Austin Powers movies on the spin. Behave.
