I've got something to warm your cold dead heart on this miserable Tuesday, as director Glenn Weiss popped the question to his partner during his Emmy acceptance speech last night, and if you don't think this is pretty bloody sweet then there's no hope for you.
Oscar's director Weiss was on stage collecting his award for directing a variety special when he mentioned his partner Jan Svendsen and said: "You wonder why I don't call you my girlfriend? Because I want to call you my wife."
Svendsen looked like she was about to fall through her chair. And if that isn't adorable enough for you, as she attempted to make her way out of her seat and on to the stage, the camera cut to Cumberbatch who looked absolutely delighted with the while OTT proposal:
N'aww. Look at that face.

Leslie Jones' face is also a picture:
Once on the stage, Weiss turned to Svendsen and said: "Jan, I want to put this ring on your finger that my Mom wore in front of all these people and in front of my mom and your parents watching from above.
"Will you marry me?"

The pressure he put on himself for that proposal paid off, but Weiss admitted backstage he didn't have a back-up plan if he lost his nerve on stage.
He told reporters: "To be honest with you, there was no plan B. If this didn't happen exactly in this way, something else equally big and surprising would've happened.
"Wait until next year? I suppose at the Ball, or at In-N-Out Burger, which is our staple after-awards shows." Slightly less fancy and romantic that one, pal.

And, apparently, it wasn't just happy news for Weiss and Svendsen, as Cumberbatch and his wife Sophie Hunter are reportedly expecting their third child.
According to E!, Hunter's floor-length yellow gown was covering up a baby bump at last night's 70th Emmy Awards. The pair welcomed son Hal Auden 18 months ago, and also have Christopher Carlton, who was born back in 2015.
Congratulations all 'round then.
