Fans of Charlie Brooker's incredible sci-fi dystopian series Black Mirror will be bloody delighted to know that the latest season has dropped today.

We've been patiently waiting since 2017 for the next instalment of the incredible show even though we were treated to a new style of Black Mirror in December last year with Bandersnatch.

But this time round, things revert to the old school Black Mirror format with just three episodes, meaning you'll probably be able to binge on the whole thing as soon as you've clocked out for the day, should you desire.

The three episodes are called 'Striking Vipers', 'Smithereens' and 'Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too', and feature a stellar cast of A-listers like pop star Miley Cyrus, Avengers' Anthony Mackie, Aquaman's Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Topher Grace from BlacKkKlansman, among other things.

The trailers for each dropped a couple of weeks ago, giving us a sneak peak of what we can expect for the fifth instalment.

In 'Striking Vipers', we see the Anthony Mackie and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II team up for what Charlie Brooker recently referred to as 'the Marvel-DC crossover no one saw coming', while 'Smithereens' is all about a 'cab driver with an agenda', who becomes the centre of attention on a day that rapidly spirals out of control.

Then for 'Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too', we've got the curious casting of Miley Cyrus, who plays a starlet launching her own smart home device bearing her voice.

Also starring Angourie Rice and Madison Davenport, the plot summary explains: "A lonely teenager yearns to connect with her favourite pop star - whose charmed existence isn't quite as rosy it appears..."

The last outing for Brooker and his team was choose-your-own-adventure film, Bandersnatch, which allowed viewers to decide how the story unfolded.

Speaking at the time, TV critic and writer Brooker said: "It kept expanding, even when we were in pre-production. We deliberately pushed what was going to be possible. The story outline crashed."

But now it's time to buckle up and treat yourself to the newest helping of dark, sometimes-amusing, satirical sci-fi, and we can't wait.
