Bruce Willis Gets Roasted By Ex-Wife Demi Moore On Comedy Central

The 'Die Hard' star wore it well, even after his ex-wife weighed in

Bruce Willis got a shock at his Comedy Central Roast the other day when a surprise guest tipped up to give him a verbal lashing - his ex-wife Demi Moore.

OK, so he's out of favour with a lot of people after saying at the same event that Die Hard isn't a Christmas movie, so perhaps he deserved it.

That said, your ex-wife turning up is the last thing you need when you're already at an event that has been expressly organised with the purpose of telling you how much you suck.

The pair are actually on pretty good terms, to be fair, but still, she could probably trot out the most intimate, hurtful, and personal dirt if she chose to.

Luckily for Bruce, she kept it (relatively) good-natured, and only weighed in on their marriage on one significant occasion.

It must have come as a bit of a surprise to Willis, as well. The roast's host Joseph Gordon-Levitt announced her completely out of the blue - she wasn't listed as one of the speakers - and she stepped straight out of the audience and took her place at the podium.

OK, there are a few easy targets you could go for if you were trying to roast Bruce Willis. He's bald, for starters. He's also pretty famous for playing exactly the same person in every single one of his films (that's a bit unfair, but it is a roast, after all).

You could even have a go at his frankly bizarre musical career. It's not that well known, but he released an album called 'The Return of Bruno' back in the 1980s that featured a cover of 'Secret Agent Man' and 'Under the Boardwalk'. It has to be heard to be believed.

But no, Demi went straight for the spot that only she could hit. Their failed marriage.

She said: "I look at our marriage like 'The Sixth Sense'," said Moore. "You were dead the whole time."

Now THAT is how you roast someone. Topical, but also massively hurtful, excellent work.

As mentioned earlier, Moore and Willis are actually mates now, despite their marriage not working out. Bruce's daughters, Tallulah, Scout, and Rumer, were present in the audience and laughing along as well, so no harm was done.

To be fair, the roasters went in pretty hard at him. Gordon-Levitt, who starred alongside Willis in Looper said: "Bruce, we're going to have a good time tonight, but don't get too comfortable because later we're going to be replacing you with Ashton Kutcher."

That's a reference to Demi Moore's relationship with Kutcher that started after she split from the Die Hard actor.

He took it with a good grace, though. At the end of the night he gave his own speech in which he made a few funnies about Donald Trump, the #MeToo movement, and Woody Allen.

He then remembered that Donald Trump once got roasted on the same show, and he went on to become the President of the United States of America.

Although, as he rightly pointed out: "Why be President when I can be Bruce fucking Willis?"

Fair point, well made.
