Kit Harington Played An April Fool’s Joke On His Fiancé That Left Her In Tears

Kit Harington Played An April Fool’s Joke On His Fiancé That Left Her In Tears

“She pretty much told me if I did it ever again that would be it and I think that’s marriage included"

You'd think Kit Harington and his fiancé and former Game of Thrones co-star Rose Leslie would be used to seeing gross things, considering they spent a considerable amount of time filming with White Walkers.

Even though some of those zombies are the result of special effects, most of them spend hours getting made into horrifying creatures that could scare even the hardest people.

But it appears all that time hasn't caused Rose to be any less scared of undead things. Her husband-to-be hilariously hid a fake severed head inside their fridge for April Fool's Day and the result was absolutely classic.

Appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, Kit Harington said: "It turns out, now you've seen that, that she's not a big, like my family does April Fool's, her family doesn't do April Fool's.

"After that she was in tears. It didn't go down well. She pretty much told me if I did it ever again that would be it, and I think that's marriage included."

People on social media thought it was a pretty decent April Fool's joke, with one person saying: "You tease the one you love! That's how it works. Though if my husband tried this with me I'd probably just have shrugged and gone 'at least it's not my head.'"

Kit and Rose recently announced their engagement in a very old school way, a notice in The Times, which read: "Mr K.C. Harington and Miss R.E. Leslie - The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire."

Sounds a lot like a script from Games of Thrones.

The pair met while filming the hit HBO series, with Rose playing the wildling Ygritte, with whom Kit's character Jon Snow falls in love with. However, in true Game of Thrones style, she was killed off in the second-to-last episode of season four, when youngster Olly shot her in the back.

However, once their engagement was revealed, a person on Twitter discovered that they were actually distantly related. Kit's Wikipedia page says: "Through his paternal grandmother, Lavender Cecilia Denny, Harington's eighth-great-grandfather was Charles II of England."

Meanwhile Rose's has something very similar: "Her mother is Candida Mary Sibyl "Candy" Leslie (née Weld) of Clan Fraser, maternal great-granddaughter of Simon Fraser, 13th Lord Lovat, and descendant of Charles II of England."

Thankfully for Rose and Kit, Charles II died in 1685 so you wouldn't imagine its implications are too severe.
