If you love Star Wars but still haven't quite got your head around Disney 2012 purchase of the franchise, you might find yourself all turned around on the subject when you get a load of this - Disney has almost finished its newest theme park experience, and The Force is very strong in this one. Check it out:

The mega-corporation dropped an all new exciting trailer teasing details and behind-the-scenes footage of the soon-to-open Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, and the clip suggests it'll be one of the largest and most immersive parks that Disneyland-goers will ever experience.

In the video, viewers get a sneak peak at the park - due to open at the California Disneyland this summer - and even get to cast their eyes across two new rides: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

On the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride, fans get the opportunity to fly in Han Solo's legendary ship - famously the only one to make the Kessel Run in twelve parsecs.

In the description, it says people can become part of the iconic ship's cockpit crew and take part a a pilot, gunner, or ship engineer while zooming in hyperspace through a galaxy far, far away.

But anyone who grew up with dreams of being a Jedi knight rather than an intergalactic pilot might want to look at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance - this ride is the one for you.

Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Executive Scott Trowbridge describes it as 'the most epic attraction we've ever built' which sounds pretty on point when you learn that it gives guests the chance to stand up to the sinister First Order as recruits of the Resistance.

The park itself is modelled after the planet of Batuu - a remote planet on the outer edge of the galaxy - and spans over 14 acres.

Carrie Beck, vice president at Lucasfilm Story Group, told Thrillist "It will be jaw-dropping and incredibly emotional to walk into the land for the first time.

"To actually be standing there amongst the buildings and amongst the ships, and have this feeling that it is all real, that it has been brought to life, and it's right there in front of you, it's overwhelming."

The new park is set to open at the California theme park in Summer, then follow on to open at Disney World in Orlando in Autumn, just before the world is expected to see the next instalment in the movie series, the much-anticipated Star Wars: Episode IX.

Looks amazing.
