We've already seen the first teaser for Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, but Disney decided to bring in the New Year by dropping an appropriately festive-themed one.

The trailer, dropped on New Year's Day, shows the film's 80s' video game bad-guy-turned-good literally burst his way from 2017 through to 2018.

In a video, Ralph pokes his head through a bland 2017 banner before ripping through it in a hail of confetti, showing 2018 in all of its as-yet-untouched glory. It's only a matter of time before someone ruins it, right?

Walt Disney Animation Studios announced the sequel to Wreck-It Ralph in March 2016, delighting fans of the original Disney flick everywhere.

Rich Moore, director of Wreck-It Ralph and Zootopia, is set to be back on board for the sequel, as is the voice of the original film's hero John C. Reilly.

Other actors confirmed to be returning in Wreck-It Ralph 2 are Sarah Silverman, voice of the Sugar Rush racer Vanellope von Schweetz; Jane Lynch as Sergeant Calhoun and Jack McBrayer as the Mario-inspired Fix-It Felix.

Disney released the first trailer for Wreck-It Ralph 2 during the D23 Expo in 2017, apparently featuring actual footage from the film.

Big screen sequels are rare for Disney - how many people actually remember The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride or Aladdin and the King of Thieves? Yeah, exactly.

However, it looks like Disney bosses have far higher hopes for Ralph Breaks The Internet, which will show Ralph and Vanellope venturing outside of Litwak's Family Fun Center & Arcade into the world wide web.

Intriguingly, voice actresses who played some of Disney's famous princesses, including the voices of Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Jasmine from Aladdin, will be getting cameos in the film.

We also know that Taraji P. Henson, the Golden Globe-winning star of hip-hop industry drama Empire, has been cast to play a new character, the internet expert Yesss. Ugly Betty actress Ana Ortiz will also be getting involved with the project in some form.

Either way, we still have a long time to wait to see what Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 will turn out like: the movie isn't set to be released in cinemas until 21 November.

That gives us a good ten months to speculate, and enjoy little snippets like these.
