'Lady Voldemort' Will Change The Way You See 'He Who Must Not Be Named' Forever

Ever since Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone dropped back in 1997, we've all been absolutely obsessed with J.K. Rowling's magical world of witches, wizards, spells and butterbeer.

Several more books - and films - later, the whole franchise has only grown bigger and more popular with each installment, and while the final movie was released a good seven years ago, it's still one popular beast.

Yup, it's still so resonant that one of Rowling's most famous characters has now been given a very unlikely makeover, thanks to drag performer Florida Man.

The entertainer, who is based in San Francisco, California, has gone viral for a performance as 'Lady Voldemort', a female reworking of the infamous bald-headed Harry Potter baddie.

As you'd imagine, it truly is the weirdest and most wonderful thing you'll see for some time - Florida Man actually kills it.

In the performance, Florida Man lip syncs along to Ariana Grande's 'Dangerous Woman', beginning at first in a long black robe before ripping it off to reveal a black bodysuit and fishnet tights.

A man dressed as Harry Potter then arrives on stage, before the two duel it out - apparently a scene from the third movie, according to a tweet:

According to Teen Vogue, Florida often mashes up pop culture reference in unusal ways. This time, the number was part of a weekly party called 'Mother', which welcomed its first ever Ariana Grande tribute.

"A few months ago I produced a Harry Potter tribute show called She Who Must Not Be Named and did my first number as Lady Voldemort. It was so fun and so absurd that I knew I wanted to bring the character back in wilder situations," Florida Man told Teen Vogue.

"When the Ariana night popped up everything just clicked. It had to be 'Dangerous Woman' and it had to be a burlesque number."

Florida continued: "Part of what I'm doing with Lady Voldemort is reimagining a universe where the canon of Harry Potter is queerer and weirder, and I think that speaks to a lot of queer people and Harry Potter fans alike.

"It's also just ridiculous."

The clip of the performance has since gone viral, with one person commenting on YouTube: "Yes this is absolutely amazing. I want to see a whole Harry Potter themed show."

Another quipped: "Did he cast avadakedavra because she slayed me dead."

Someone else added: "VOLDY POPPED OFF."

Voldy sure did. We're looking forward to seeing what Florida Man has in store next...
