The latest addition to the Dragon's Den investors, 35-year-old Sara Davies, has revealed that she makes her five-year-old son work for her to earn £2 per day in order to instil in him a strong work ethic.

Davies will become the youngest ever Dragon to appear on the BBC Two show when she makes her debut this evening.

Davies owns the craft business Crafter's Companion, which is worth £35m, having started it from her university bedroom using savings of only £5,000.

Now, it seems as if she wants to pass that entrepreneurial spirit onto her two sons, five-year-old Oliver and two-year-old Charlie.

Sara Davies will make her Dragon's Den debut tonight.

The Dragon, from County Durham, told The Mirror: "Just because I'm a lot wealthier now doesn't mean I want my kids to grow up differently to how I did.

"I worked in my parents' decorating store from six. My mum would get me in every Saturday polishing the paint and straightening the wallpaper for 50p.

"My five-year-old son will help out at the shop, which my sister owns, and she'll have him doing the same thing that I was back then.

"With a bit of inflation he will get a couple of quid. My boys can negotiate much better than I can."

As she prepares to make her first appearance on the show this evening, Davies is also convinced that her sons will feel somewhat let down when they see their mother on the telly tonight.

"There'll be hell on, as I'm sure they think I'll be wearing a dragon outfit and going to a hill with a stone over it," she said.

That is a bit disappointing, to be fair.

However, she's also convinced that her sons won't be at all bothered about seeing their mum on screen.

"I'm on shopping channels a lot and they watch me on TV so this will make no difference to them," she continued.

The 35-year-old is the youngest Dragon ever.

As for the show itself, she claims that the existing Dragons - Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman, and Tej Lalvani - have been taken aback by how ruthless she has been in the Den.

She added: "I give them a run for their money,

"They may have felt, 'She's nice, we'll take her under our wing'. But I fight them. I took business off Peter Jones. I'm a smiling assassin."

Dragon's Den series 17 will start on BBC Two at 8pm on Sunday 11th August.
