Emilia Clarke Talks About That Game Of Thrones Coffee Cup Blunder

Emilia Clarke Talks About That Game Of Thrones Coffee Cup Blunder

The Mother of Dragons spills the tea...

Game of Thrones actor Emilia Clarke has taken to social media to address the fact that the HBO show accidentally left a takeaway cup in shot during the last episode.

Clarke shared a frankly bizarre post that showed her, Peter Dinklage - that's Tyrion Lannister to you and me - and Jason Momoa - Khal Drogo, remember? - on the set.

In the shot, which was presumably taken a few seasons ago, Clarke is holding a paper cup similar to the one seen in shot.

She captioned it: "Did I just stumble upon the truth here?! The cup bearer does not drinketh the Starbucks tea... oh and this ain't a spoiler just a lost wanderer coming home for a mid filming cuppa...."

Right...

Sure, she's descending into madness on the show, but what the hell?

We can only assume that she is saying that she doesn't drink coffee, she drinks tea. Oh, and she also spoke recently to The Times about how the cup probably wasn't hers anyway.

She was dropped in it by her co-star, Liam Cunningham (who plays Ser Davos Seaworth) when he told Conan O'Brien on his talk show: "Emilia probably drinks too much coffee."

Liam Cunningham dropped Clarke in it.

Clarke hit back: "What a bastard! I don't even drink Starbucks.

"I have no idea whose it was. Liam's a cheeky one. The funny thing is in Belfast, there is no craft coffee selling Starbucks.

"Unless we've got the Americans in, some hotshot producer, and then we'll have Starbucks lying around."

She continued: "You've never seen a Game of Thrones cast member with a Starbucks in their hand because we don't get them.

"We don't get to be like, 'Yo, somebody go out and get me a mocha choco latte.' I've never had Starbucks."

Anyway, even if she could, Starbucks' coffee wouldn't be her hot beverage of choice. She is - of course - a tea drinker.

She added: "My house is just littered with teas everywhere,

"I'll bet it was Liam. He's deflecting it - 100 percent. Like I said, he's a cheeky one."

It doesn't matter anyway, because in the 48 hours since it was noticed, HBO has digitally edited it out of there.

The coffee cup is now gone.

So they could digitally edit a takeaway cup out, but they don't have the budget to give Jon a chance to say goodbye to his faithful direwolf, Ghost?

Damn it all.

Spotted anything unusual in Game of Thrones? What hot beverages should they be drinking in Westeros?
