People Realise They’ve Been Spelling Santa’s Surname Wrong All Because Of A Kids’ Film

There are actually some people who've been spelling Santa's surname wrong all the time, just because of a kids' film.

So you know when you worry about the ability of humanity? This'll do it.

That's because there are some people in the world who have only just realised they've been spelling Santa's surname - yep, Claus - wrong this whole time. And the reason they're confused is because of a kids' Christmas film.

FFS.

The Santa Clause (yep, the 'e' is intentional) is a 1994 Christmas flick starring Tim Allen. He plays Scott Calvin, an ordinary American dude who accidentally kills Santa - as you do. He then finds a card on poor old St Nick that reads: "If something should happen to me, put on my suit - the reindeer will know what to do."

Then, because it's a film, Scott does indeed put the suit on, before learning that he has to be the replacement over the festive period. Because that's what the card said. It's like a legal clause. A legal clause for Santa Claus.

It's a fucking play on words, guys. That's the whole idea.

In brighter news, people have also been really excited to learn that the little kid who played Tim Allen's on-screen son, Charlie, has now grown up - and they reckon he's a total hottie.

The actor, Eric Lloyd, was just eight years old when the film came out, and now he's the ripe old age of 31. Some think he's the perfect age to take on Tim Allen's former role in a new reboot, though I'm not sure the world needs a fourth installment of The Santa Clause - after all, it'll probably mean a whole new generation gets confused about how to spell Santa's surname.

You may also remember Lloyd - with a similar bowl hair cut - from another of his childhood roles in 90s hit Dunston Checks In. That's right, the film about a kid befriending an orangutan in a five-star hotel. Now that was a great film.

Cor, how's all that for a bit of 90s nostalgia?
