Despite season seven of Game of Thrones drawing to a close, the series is still going to be fresh in the minds of everyone who watches.

For the next few weeks, spare time will be spent re-watching episodes, contemplating storylines and possibilities, as well as waiting for series eight to come along.

HBO are reportedly working on possible spin-offs, which is another area of excitement for fans. However, until anything is on our TVs, it'll be the same routine of re-watching, contemplation and waiting.

To whet our whistles though, a fan-made trailer of Game of Thrones if it was set in the modern day has made its way onto YouTube, and, well, have a look for yourselves...

Not bad at all. It's gotten very positive feedback from commenters on the site, with one saying: "Fan made or not, the concept is amazing and has potential."

While another added: "I would watch the fuck out of this."

However, to balance it out, someone said: "You're entitled to your opinion but I think it's fucking atrocious. Its so generic and basic. Something a 5-year-old could come up with. "

The creators have called it Westeros the Series, and it does bare many resemblances to the format of GoT. I didn't see a dragon, mind you, but there was a sex scene.

The imagining of possible spin-offs is a popular thing, as someone else has made a prequel called Doom of Valyria.

"For 5,000 years, the Valyrian Freehold ruled the world, until its surrounding volcanoes obliterated it from history. But, what truly destroyed Valyria?" the description says.

Patrick McCarthy, who spent two years animating an entire episode of the potential series, told LADbible: "The clip is a trailer for an animated pilot about the most devastating yet most mysterious event in Game of Thrones history - The Doom of Valyria."

HBO announced in May that it's on a quest to replace the most popular show in the company's history, taking the unusual step of developing four different ideas from four different writers.

The move represents a potentially massive expansion of the popular fantasy universe created by author George R.R Martin.

It would be the first time in the channel's history that it's made a spin-off series of one of its major hits.

The fresh ideas come from: Max Borenstein (Kong: Skull Island), Jane Goldman (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Brian Helgeland (A Knight's Tale), and Carly Wray (Mad Men).

HBO, without revealing too many details about the ideas, said the shows will 'explore different time periods of George R.R. Martin's vast and rich universe'.

GoT co-creators, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, have previously said that they do not plan to be in any follow-up projects, but it's also been announced that they will be attached to the new shows as executive producers.
