Last night saw the long-awaited finale of Line of Duty, but there was one moment that stole the show, and it wasn't anything to do with the identity of 'H'.

After being interrupted by AC-3 officer DI Michelle Brandyce (Laura Elphinstone), DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) delivered one of the sassiest lines in the entire series.

As Kate is chatting DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston), Michelle demands the pair share their information with AC-3.

Kate was not having any of it, saying: "Listen, Michelle, we're AC-12. We do this to other units week in, week out, so don't try telling me how it works. We're witnesses, not suspects. Now stop making a tit of yourself and piss off."

Fans were in stitches at the brutal put-down and took to Twitter to praise McClure for her delivery.

One fan said: "If I could use this line (or similar) during my working day I'd be living the dream!"

A second viewer wrote: "If I can find the right occasion I fully intend to say this Got to be the most iconic line."

A third put: "#LineOfDuty ....annnnnd breathe! Just loved it!!! Iconic line. Now stop making a tit of yourself and piss off."

She wasn't expecting that.

While another added: "'Now stop making a tit of yourself and piss off'. Name a more iconic line on any TV show ever. Ya fucking can't. #LineofDuty."

And it wasn't just viewers who were impressed with McClure's classic delivery, her co-star Compston even got in on the act.

He wrote: "I can't tell you how many times I ran this with @Vicky_McClure, not because she needed any practise she just loved saying it #vintagefleming."

McClure added: "And that was my favourite line in the Line of Duty!!"

But this wasn't the only important moment in the long-awaited finale. Fans were moved by a special message hidden at the end of the credits, in memory of Graeme Livingstone.

The former crew member tragically passed away two years ago after the motorbike he was riding collided with a car in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

Prior to the show's release, Martin Compston encouraged fans to watch until the end of the credits of the much anticipated episode, saying: "Hey folks hopefully if your jaws are back up from the floor in time, there's a little something at the very end of the show which means a lot to the whole @Line_of_duty family, much appreciated if you could stay tuned for it."
