For those of you who aren't fans of the cartoon Rick and Morty (you're missing out), you may be wondering why everyone is all of a sudden banging out about McDonald's Szechuan sauce.
The sauce was originally sold as a tie-in with the Disney movie Mulan, however, it's gained a new army of fans after being mentioned on Rick and Morty as the reason that Rick goes on so many intergalactic adventures; it's all an attempt to find the sauce, saying that even if 'takes nine seasons' he'll get his McNugget Szechuan dipping sauce.

Due to the massive amount of interest this caused, it was revived, after being off the menu since 1998. The sauce was made available yesterday at a number of McDonald's restaurants over in the US and caused riots as it quickly sold out and then, shocker, was being flogged online for about one hundred times the price.
One chancer has posted an advert for a single portion of the sauce for an eye-watering $20,000 (£15,316); the item description reads: "I stood in line at a Tampa location beginning at 9am for the 2pm release. The McDonald's only had about 10 packets. I was number eight in line. If you're a Rick and Morty fan this is the ultimate collectable."
Disappointed sauce-fans took to social media to express their annoyance at the fact the sauce stocks ran out so quickly. Others started actual chants outside Maccies to let the company know they weren't best pleased. In some places, police were called. Honestly.
Anyway, it looks like it's only bloody worked, because today the official McDonald's Twitter account tweeted to let everyone know that they want to 'make it right' and will be pushing out loads more Szechuan sauce at even more locations.
The post read: "Yesterday, we were truly humbled by the amazing curiosity, passion and energy this community showed to welcome back Szechuan Sauce - even if just for one day. Thank you a million times over."
Before going on to acknowledge that supply hadn't met demand, which was 'not cool'.
It finishes: "Szechuan sauce is coming back once again this winter. And instead of being one-day-only and limited to certain restaurants, we're bringing back more - a lot more - so that any fan who's willing to do whatever it takes for Szechuan sauce will only have to ask for it at a nearby McDonald's."
There are no more details on where or when just yet, but you can follow Maccies on Twitter, here, to keep up to date.
Oh and if you've just put a $20k bid in on that sauce, now might be a good time to cancel.
