Fuming Australians Are Demanding An Apology From Ant And Dec

Have they gone too far?

They're known for a being a bit cheeky, but Geordie pair Ant and Dec might have taken it a bit far this time by pissing off an entire nation.

On Saturday night's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! on ITV at 9pm, the duo tried this joke.

Dec said: "As you know, this job is about ruling over a group of uncouth layabouts who rarely wash and can barely light a fire."

Ant replied: "Basically it's like being the Australian Prime Minister." Harsh and also a bit risky when you're filming in the bloody country.

Ant's gag has led to angry Aussies demanding an apology, but this isn't just your average Twitter moaning, no, no. The Australian government has got involved, with a number of politicians having their say, including Senator James McGrath, who is the assistant minister to the prime minister. Strewth.

According to reports, he said: "Maybe they're looking in the mirror. That's a bit rich coming from a pair of TV presenters. I wonder what was the last book they read that didn't need crayons." Shots fired.

Another MP, George Christensen, who sounds like a right laugh, added: "I think most British folk would understand, we do love a drink, that's for sure. But we do wash as well." We love a drink as well, George, let's just get drunk and put this all behind us.

Ant and Dec don't seem too worried, though. They uploaded this snap to Instagram, using the hashtag 'scandal', but seem quite unfazed by the whole thing.Your move, Australia.
