'Game Of Thrones' Sets Will Be Left Up So You Can Visit Westeros When The Series Finishes

'Game Of Thrones' Sets Will Be Left Up So You Can Visit Westeros When The Series Finishes

Five words: I need to go here

It's a truly devastating fact that as time goes on, we get closer to that last season of Game of Thrones, and with it the LAST EVER EPISODE - meaning the time will soon be upon us when there will be no more GOT to grace our screens.

HBO

But fear not! If it wasn't just Kit Harington et al who stole your heart, and you also fell in love with the grand and unbelievable set, then your salvation is here: the studio will be keeping the sets up for people to visit.

So unlike when other favourite TV shows have drawn to a close, HBO is NOT going to rip down the set, leaving us with the opportunity to live out our dreams of crossing the bridge between reality and fantasy.

The sets will be transformed so that people can visit Westeros - much like the way Harry Potter World evolved from the original studio sets, except in Northern Ireland.

HBO

The Game of Thrones Legacy Tour will include sets from Castle Black, Winterfell, and King's Landing, as well as Linen Mill Studios, where there will be more attractions.

Looks like this is good news for the Northern Ireland tourist board as well as GOT fans, with John Grillen, CEO of Tourism NI, saying: "While fans have seen the stunning landscapes, coastlines and mountains in the series, we are thrilled they will now have the opportunity to fully experience the charm of Northern Ireland and immerse themselves in to the world of Westeros."

Everyone involved in the Game of Thrones Legacy Tour hopes for the attraction to be ready at some point next year, so that's not too long to wait - and in the meantime we'll hopefully have seen the next, and last, series of the show by that time, with it due to be released by the end of May.

Devastatingly, fans of the show have been without a new episode for almost a whole year.

HBO

But HBO's president of programming, Casey Bloys, said the show would be premiering in the first half of 2019.

This means the show will qualify for the Emmy Awards next year. A series must air between 1 June 2018 and 31 May 2019.

So, if HBO wanted the final season of Game Of Thrones to be considered in the next Emmys, it would have to air before the end of May.

After a successful 22 nominations in the 2018 Emmys, it seems likely that this would be the way HBO would want to go.

At this point we're all just keeping watch for the white crow - a true sign winter is coming, after all.
