‘Game Of Thrones’ Will Stop Production For Kit And Rose’s Wedding

Fans of Game of Thrones are desperately waiting for their beloved show to come back as soon as possible, and many were dismayed at the thought of potentially having to wait until 2019 before finding out what happens when the White Walkers march south.

Obviously filming a show of this magnitude takes time because of make-up, special effects, set design and battling the elements. But it appears that we might be waiting for another reason.

Kit Harington, who plays the starring role as Jon Snow, recently announced his engagement to his former Game of Thrones co-star Rose Leslie, and he wants to make sure that he has enough time to enjoy his wedding.

He revealed on The Jonathan Ross Show that the show will stop production so that he and Rose can tie the knot: "I rang [the producer] up and I said, 'I'm getting married and it's your fault, actually.' I think for the final season he is so stressed that he's reached that peaceful level.

"I was like, 'You need to factor in a Game of Thrones wedding by the way.' They [the cast] have all got to be there so the whole thing has got to shut down."

Considering the pair played lovers on the HBO series (before Rose's character Ygritte was brutally murdered in Season Four) you'd think this might provide a chance for them to dress up as their characters for the big day. Kit could don his trademark black fur coat and suit of armour, while Rose could wear a Wildling-inspired white fur dress.

But alas, that won't be happening, as Kit explained: "There is absolutely no chance of me convincing [Rose] of that."

Kit has also revealed that the proposal didn't exactly go according to plan, telling the Sun: "I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff, but we were in the country and we were under this beautiful night sky and had a log fire burning and red wine and I blew my load early.

"Sorry, that's a really bad expression".

"I was meant to do it the day after with the lights. What I meant to say was, I popped my question a bit early. Not blew my load."

They kept the announcement of their upcoming nuptials very classy with a post in the Times, which read: "Mr K.C. Harington and Miss R.E. Leslie - The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire."
