Ah, Black Panther, how amazing you were. The incredible Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film starring Chadwick Boseman only came out a few weeks ago and people are already clamouring for more.

Well, there's great news for Black Panther fans as the man behind the MCU has confirmed that a Black Panther sequel is 100 per cent guaranteed to be happening.

Apparently the project has been in the pipeline at Marvel Studios for years, ever since the first Black Panther film started being developed, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige revealed.

While Marvel is obviously still figuring out the details of any sequel, Feige has relieved everyone by confirming that no matter what happens, Black Panther 2 is an absolute certainty.

"Nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that," Feige told Entertainment Weekly. "One of the favourite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two.

"There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one."

This doesn't come as too much of a surprise as Marvel loves giving its heroes at least three films to work with - just look at Iron Man and Captain America. Still, it's a relief to hear there's more to come.

And that 'more' isn't limited just to Black Panther himself either. Feige also revealed that Marvel Studios might be considering spin-off movies for characters like Shuri and Okoye. We'd love to see that.

"I think there's lots of potential. It's a balance between leaving people wanting more and then giving them too much," he said. "But I would watch a movie about [the Dora Milaje or Shuri]. I think Shuri's astounding, and you'll see much more of her in our universe. Okoye, I think I'd watch three action films just Okoye.

"I'm not saying we're doing that, but I'm saying that we're intrigued by them. Frankly, as I've said before, finishing these first 22 movies is really all we're thinking about at this point."

It's fantastic to hear that a whole franchise might spring up around T'Challa and his mates.

For now, Black Panther 2 is an awesome prospect. We'll just have to watch the first one again in the meantime.
