Happy Birthday To Mark Hamill, The King Of 'Star Wars' Fan Trolling

It's not all films and awards, sometimes you've got to have a laugh.

Today is the day that Mark Hamill turns 67 years of age. Hamill has had a long and storied career in film, television, and theatre, but on this - the day of his birth - it's probably worth mentioning a skill of his that is perhaps the best of them all.

You see, Hamill made his name playing the part of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. Once you've been the lead character in one of the biggest film franchises of all time, there are a few problems with that.

Firstly, a lot of people find it difficult to step out of such huge shoes, and secondly, you are then the property of the fan base. They think that because they love the films so much, they own you.

That's definitely not the case with Mark Hamill. You see, he's actual the chief troll of Star Wars fans everywhere.

Whether it's teasing things that aren't going to happen, mocking up a casting announcement for the latest film that suggests an empty robe is getting the job, or just responding hilariously to fan questions, he's in the driving seat 100 percent of the time.

That's a talent to be celebrated - most actors wouldn't be so playful to a fanbase that can be as demanding as Star Wars fans. He even mentioned the dreaded J word at one point - Jar Jar Binks.

To give you an idea of what he goes in for, one intrepid Twitter fan once asked him: "Mr.Hammil I'm doing a project for school. I would like to know what your favorite part of Star Wars the Force Awakens is."

Big mistake.

HAMILL replied: "My favorite part of #TheForceAwakens was in the credits where they spelled my name correctly."

Touché, Skywalker.

In fact, sometimes he's even the butt of his own jokes. He once tweeted a picture of a name badge that he got on which someone else got his name wrong. He said: "How famous am I? Actual Security Pass I got 4 Disney London Office visit. That's MISTER Hamilton to you!"

Oh yeah, and on top of it all, he recently got into a bizarre online exchange in which someone asked him if he was a Wolves fan - meaning Wolverhampton Wanderers. Hamill liked it, and then had to say that he thought they meant actual wolves, you know, the animal.

So, on his birthday, it's worth taking a second to salute not only the king of Star Wars, but also the king of internet hilarity. Have a great day, Mark.
