HBO Has Started A Game Of Thrones Scavenger Hunt To Find Six Iron Thrones

Four have been found, two are still out there somewhere...

If you fancy embarking on your very own quest for the Iron Throne ahead of the final season of Game of Thrones, you're in luck. HBO has hidden several replica Iron Thrones in several picturesque locations around the globe.

That means that you'll have your chance to sit on the famous chair before finding out who will occupy the seat full time once the great war is over.

The thrones - six in total - are hidden in six different countries around the world. Well, that's what we think anyway. Not all of the Iron Thrones have been discovered just yet.

Here's what we know.

There is definitely one in the UK. That's in Puzzlewood Forest in Gloucestershire. One has been hidden in Sweden, in a place called Björkliden - known as the Throne in the North - and another is in a place called Castello de Atienza, north of the Spanish capital, Madrid.

A fourth has been spotted, but it hasn't actually been confirmed where it is yet. The most popular opinion seems to be that it is in Brazil, in a place called Beberibe.

That means that there are still two Iron Thrones out there, undiscovered.

The scavenger hunt to find the various thrones was started on the Game of Thrones website #ForTheThrone. On there, they said: "For seven seasons you've watched characters lie, bleed, and sacrifice for the Iron Throne,

"As the final season approaches, only one question remains: How far will you go?"

If you visit that website, you can see a 360 degree video of each of the thrones to see if that helps you discover where the last two are hidden away.

They've got names, too.

So, the one in Brazil is called the Throne of Valyria, a reference to the ancient kingdom ruled by the Targaryen dragon lords.

The one in Sweden is known as the Throne of the North, presumably referring to either the Stark family or the Night King, depending on how far north they are talking about.

The throne that lives in Spain is called the Throne of Joy for - well - whatever reason. The Gloucestershire throne is called the Throne of the Forest, you get the gist.

We know that one of the other ones is the Throne of Ice, but no-one knows where it is, the sixth throne will be unveiled later this week. There has yet to be one in the United States, so you'd think that one might materialise there.

Either way, if you reckon you know, get out there and get a picture with it. What else are you going to do until the final Game of Thrones season premieres on April 15th?

Enjoy it whilst it lasts...
