There are just three weeks left until families up and down the country sit down, rip open their presents, and try not to look totally and utterly underwhelmed with yet another pair of thermal socks and a Yankee candle.

Then it's all about waiting just the right length of time before asking if they kept the receipt.

One positive however, is that it's also the time of year when it's totally acceptable for grown adults to binge watch the entire Harry Potter series without spiraling into a deep and dark depression about where your life is going, which, at any other point in the year you would.

But once you've finished them all, what then, talk to your family? Watch the Only Fools and Horses Christmas special for the 100th time that day? It doesn't bear thinking about, how about instead building a giant model of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?

And coming in at an enormous 6,020 pieces you won't have to speak to anyone at least until the New Year. The bumper pack is the second largest Lego model ever released, still some way behind the Millennium Falcon at 7,541 pieces.

The intricate model is made up of more than 6,000 pieces.

The intricate design also includes some of the saga's main characters, including Hagrid, Dumbeldore, and Snape, as well as the main trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

It's not just the characters though - no expense has been spared when it comes to the level of detail that's gone into creating an authentic replica of the iconic school. The pack even includes the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, Chessboard Chamber, as well as the moving staircases.

The advert says: "It comes packed with highlights from the Harry Potter series, where you will discover towers, turrets, chambers, classrooms, creatures, the Whomping Willow and Hagrid´s hut, plus many more iconic features. And with 4 minifigures, 27 microfigures featuring students, professors and statues, plus 5 Dementors, this advanced building set makes the perfect Harry Potter gift."

But priced at £349.99, you would surely have to be a committed Potterhead if you fancy treating yourself to one of these this Christmas - but if the reviews are anything to go by, it's worth every penny.

One person wrote: "The level of detail is unprecedented, and creating each little diorama adds to the excitement as the build progresses.

"This isn't a playset, it's a model to be created and admired."

Imagine getting to the end and discovering you'd lost a piece down the back of the sofa though eh?
