So sweet.

When you're a kid, there's probably no better experience than meeting your favourite superheroes.

One of the most recent comic book heroes being brought to the big screen is Wonder Woman; which has become the highest-grossing film directed by a woman, the biggest domestic opening for a film directed by a woman, and the largest opening for a female-led comic book movie.

The film has been in development since 1996, so fans across the world have been waiting some time for it to finally be released. The woman who plays the red, gold and blue hero, Gal Gadot, has been praised for inspiring women around the globe.

That was never more prevalent than when a young girl met Gal at Comic-Con in San Diego.

The youngster, dressed like her hero, breaks down in front of the actor, who tries to tell her that she has nothing to be upset about. Her Justice League co-star, Ben Affleck, looks on with affection, saying 'that's sweet', while Gal's other on-screen teammate, Ezra Miller, tells the girl, 'you're a warrior'.

She wipes away her tears and politely thanks the team for being there.

American director Scott Derrickson poignantly captioned a screenshot of the encounter as: "These movies matter."

Surprisingly, the girl's mum commented on the post, saying: "That was my daughter. She was so happy to meet her that she was tearing up. Gal was so sweet to her. Memories of a lifetime!"

That sparked an outpouring of support from a few other Twitter users.

Ryan Reynolds delivered a brilliant message to Gal when he found out that Wonder Woman had beaten fellow Marvel flick Deadpool at the box office.

Reynold's film has totalled $363m (£282.6m) so far, but Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot as the title character, has now raked in $389m (£298.2m) - making it the 34th highest grossing film ever domestically in the US.

Of course, Marvel's The Avengers still stands at the top the chain with over $623m (£484.6m) gross total, with Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Iron Man 3 rounding out the top three.
