Fans Think 'Game Of Thrones' Episode Showed Catelyn Stark's Ghost

What do you think?

No matter how many times you watch a Game of Thrones episode it always seems that you miss something, or that someone has a completely different theory to what you think.

Last week, episode four, 'The Spoils Of War', was the latest to air, and ultimately sparked the social media rumour mill once again.

Firstly, watch this clip and see if you notice anything unusual.

One user of Reddit, GrennsGal, provoked many a thought by posting his eagle-eyed view on the episode which Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) engages in a friendly duel with Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie).

"If you watch the sparring scene in S07E04 between Arya and Brienne, when Arya asks, 'Didn't you vow to serve both my MOTHER's daughters?'," he writes.

"At the word MOTHER you can see a woman in a long green dress w/ [with] long auburn wavy hair with her head down walking past the background gate, resembling Cat [Catelyn Stark].

"If it's unintentional, it's awesome. If not, more awesome. Catelyn checking on Brienne keeping her vows."

So, where do you sit? Was it intentional by writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss?

In the books, by George R.R. Martin, an undead version of Catelyn Stark does appear, this time under the name Lady Stoneheart. Her presence has been teased for a couple of seasons now.

And, what's more, Stoneheart has been affiliated in the storylines of both Brienne and Podrick Payne who are both visible in the scene.

However, many were believing in the 'hype' according to the thread...

...there are also those who are against it.

"Clearly one of the spinoffs will be called 'Stoneheart P.I.' and involve the zombie of Catelyn Stark driving around in a red Ferrari 308 GTS solving crimes with her partner Tyrion," joked one.

Another laughed: "Are you one of those people that finds Jesus' likeness in your French toast?"

The episode, in which this scene is questioned, was recently described, by many fans, as 'the greatest ever'.

It's unclear if Jaime is dead - we'll have to wait until next week for that - but the battle featured was one of the best ever seen in the show.

After seasons of waiting, Dany unleashed her dragons and you can't help but feel a little bit sorry for all the Lannister lads being roasted inside their armour.
