If you're lucky, you're probably looking at a few days off work over the festive period, and what better way to spend them than binge watching a documentary about drugs on Netflix? 'Tis the season.

The popularity of shows such as Narcos and Cartle Land has led to an influx in drug-related offerings on the streaming site, but Dope is something pretty special.

The documentary series gives an amazing insight into the modern day drug industry and is filmed from a number of perspectives - so you'll see what it's like for users, dealers and police who have to deal with it all.

Each episode is 45-minutes long, so you'll still be able to spend some time with your family this Christmas, if they insist.

The series starts out by taking viewers out on to the streets of Oakland, where you can see how the officers deal with a RV, which is rumoured to belong to a distributor. The second episode, shows what life is like for addicts, dealers and cops working in Baltimore - dubbed 'the heroin capital of America'.

The third episode takes us south of the border, where traffickers are attempting to bring cannabis into the US and are willing to try anything to make it happen.

The fourth episode is filmed over Memorial Day weekend in Chicago and gives viewers a glimpse at dealers getting ready for a busy weekend and officers trying to keep on top of it all.

Dope only dropped on Netflix today, but has already got fans on social media:

Alright, so it might not be your traditional seasonal viewing, but it's definitely worth a watch.
