"I used to be with it, but then they changed what 'it' was, and now what I'm with isn't it. And what's 'it' seems weird and scary to me."
Grampa Simpson was talking about staying with the times, but his words inadvertently double up as an excellent commentary on the latest take on the Stephen King classic - though It (the film, not the concept) was pretty weird and scary to begin with, if we're being honest.
With that in mind, consider this your spoiler alert (that's 'SPOILER ALERT'): in an interview with Variety, actor Jaeden Lieberher has revealed an alternate ending to the cinematic cut of the movie.

"I did have this scene where I climb up the tower at the end," said Jaeden, the 14-year old star who plays Bill Denbrough, the leader of the Losers' Club.
"When I'm chasing after Georgie, I climb the tower and I'm at a one-on-one confrontation with Pennywise and then I say that I'm not afraid of him, that none of the losers are afraid of him, and that's how we beat him."
We all remember that bit. Wait, no. It wasn't in the version that made it into cinemas. In the film that we all saw (and if you haven't watched it yet, here's the spoiler), Pennywise meets his fate at the hands of the Losers' Club, but there was no big climb up the pile of toys and circus stuff.

Lieberher might have inadvertently pulled the curtain back a little far there, though given that he's a schoolboy, we can probably forgive him.
It has gone on to become the highest grossing horror movie ever, but Lieberher suggested it might not be the horror aspect alone that is getting people through the cinema doors.
He continued: "With the heart, humour, and horror thing, not only is it a scary movie but it's a movie about these seven kids, these losers. It's about their friendship and how they come together to fight this clown. There's a lot of comedy aspects, too, and there's a lot of touching, dramatic ones as well. There's a little bit of everything."
He also admitted that before It, he wasn't that big a fan of horror as a genre: "I don't love horror movies. Before, I was just too scared. I thought that I would not be able to sleep because when I do see horror movies, it makes me extremely paranoid just being in the dark or closing my eyes for more than two seconds. It's almost just torturing yourself. After this movie, I've seen the process and know that everything is fake."
