Everyone wants a fourth series

Let's face it, we all want a new series of The Inbetweeners, don't we? But we've all come to accept the fact that it isn't happening.

The cast of the show must get bloody sick of people asking when there's going to be a fourth series or a third film, so much so that James Buckley - or 'Jay off The Inbetweeners' as he's better known - decided to troll fans.

Sharing a snap of himself alongside Will (Simon Bird), Simon (Joe Thomas) and Neil (Blake Harrison) he wrote: "Inbetweeners series 4 pre production meal."

It's been 10 years since the first episode aired and we all learnt the wonderful insult 'briefcase wanker' - and many fans have been hoping for an anniversary reunion.

Of course, the post was flooded with comments from fans asking the actor if it was true while others told him not to get our hopes up.

Sadly, it seems that we've had all we're getting from The Inbetweeners, with Will, sorry, Simon pouring cold water on the idea of another series - or film - last year. He told the Guardian: "Yep, I can confirm The Inbetweeners is over.

"[The films were] a massive surprise. Then again, every step of the way with The Inbetweeners was a surprise.

"I can't emphasis enough how small that show seemed. It was the first sitcom E4 ever made, with a shoestring budget, first-time writers and a first-time cast."

However, there has been talk of a reboot, with a whole new cast, something which Simon finds 'really weird'.

Speaking to the Radio Times, he said: "More weird than the fact it will be with a new cast - which would just be necessary seeing as we're all about 54 years old - it's the fact that it'd be without the writers.

"In that case it's just not going to be The Inbetweeners. It'll just be a different show with the same title."

I can't see that working, can you?
